Search engines like Google or Bing find websites of all levels of quality and value.

These Web sites were chosen by your librarian based on the following standards. Keep these things in mind when deciding if a website is reliable and appropriate for your research.

objective and unbiased

recently updated
educational purpose

Always check with your instructor to find out if you can use free (non-Library) websites for your assignments.

Remember, if looking for journal articles, library databases are the most efficient tool for searching.

The International Reading Association & National Council of Teachers of English have partnered to provide K-12 educators with extensive online resources, lesson plans and tool kits. Content is organized by grade level.
TPRI Early Reading Assessment

Rich website for social studies teachers which includes lesson plans, notable books, and activities. Content organized by grade level.
Reading Like a Historian (Stanford History Education Group)
The Reading Like a Historian curriculum engages students in historical inquiry. Each lesson revolves around a central historical question and features sets of primary documents designed for groups of students with diverse reading skills and abilities.
Library of Congress
The Library of Congress offers classroom materials and professional development to help teachers effectively use primary sources from the Library's vast digital collections in their teaching. Find Library of Congress lesson plans and more that meet state content standards and the standards of national organizations.
